*Jay and Paulo stand face to face. Paulo has a fist raised. The bell rings, distracting both of them.*
*The gym teacher stands next to Sue.*
Gym teacher: Alright, kids. Clean yourselves up and get ready for the pep rally.
*Sue, tears in her eyes and arms raised pleadingly, leans toward the gym teacher, devastated.*
Sue: Why are you punishing me..?!
*Mike slumps over, crying. Lucy, standing behind him, thrusts her fist in the air with a big grin.*
Gym teacher: Blue team wins.. Now c’mon, let’s go!
Lucy: HAHA! Kicked yo ass, jerkface!
Mike: There was no way I could win, Lucy.
*Mike looks over his shoulder at Lucy with a cute pout and big, teary eyes.*
Mike: They’re gonna make us attend a PEP RALLY and there’s no getting out of it.. this whole day has been a total loss!
*Mike continues to stare at Lucy with sad puppy dog eyes while she considers him.*
Mike and Lucy: …
*Lucy is unfazed.*
Lucy: Oh get over it. You’ve ALWAYS been a loser.
*Mike’s expression drops in irritation.*
*Mike and Lucy continue to argue off-panel.*
Mike: Thanks for the sympathy!!
Lucy: Anytime.
*Paulo approaches Tess, who looks worried.*
Tess: P-Paulo?
*Paulo’s ears are flat against his head. He’s glaring with grim determination and surrounded by flames.*
Paulo: …
*Paulo grabs Tess by the wrist.*
Paulo: C’mon!
*Tess looks shocked. Paulo scowls.*
Tess: Paulo?! What a..
Paulo: I’m walking you out, okay?!
*Paulo pulls the embarrassed Tess along behind him. Angry generic students fill the background as he mockingly feigns being upset.*
Paulo: Oh, boohoo! Look at me! I’m helping a CRIMINAL!!
*Paulo snarls and raises a threatening fist at the generic students. They look surprised and lean away from him. Tess watches in surprise.*
Paulo: SUCK IT UP, ASSHOLES!!
*Daisy, in her cheerleader uniform, watches Paulo and Tess talk.*
Paulo: C’mon, Tess!
Tess: O-okay..
*Daisy looks uneasy.*
Daisy: Wow.. Paulo..
*Daisy’s eyes go wide as she overhears Jessica talking.*
Jessica: Pff.. the nerve of that girl.
*Jessica and Rachel are nearby. Jessica has her arms crossed. Both of them look angry.*
Everyone: …
*Jessica faces Rachel. They’re both frowning.*
Jessica: She’s really got the freshmen on her side, putting on the sweet little girl act..
Rachel: It’s so unfair!
*Jessica huffs. Rachel glares and pouts.*
Rachel: She thinks one year can change everything.. But what about people like us who’ve been good ALL this time?
*Daisy looks unsure.*
Jessica: And now we’re ready to stand up to her, it’s like we’re the bad guys..
Daisy: …
