Some of my favorite pages have been the ones with all of Mike's memories of Lucy through the years, so I tried to make one from Lucy's perspective that also captures the INCREDIBLE EMOTIONAL WHIP LASH these last few pages have given me.
Was honestly kind of expecting something like this on the next page, but luckily it didn't go down that route. I.E, her mind breaking or something. Instead she turned that pain into hatred, which probably saved her from breaking down.
Now all Mike needs to do is stay the hell away from her forever, because nothing he says is going to top what he said the night before, and since THAT was apparently a lie(to her)... what could he possibly say to even attempt fixing this? It'll just look like more lies, right?
This really is a perfect visual representation of the source of that face. Lucy's desperately trying to figure out what he wants from her, and Mike can't figure it out; all the while, he's making it HER problem and using HER and all of his other friends as an emotional outlet.
