*Lucy, safe at second base behind the fielder, watches Tess get hit.*

*The fielder and Lucy are still at second base.*

*Tess closes her eyes and puts on a defeated smile.*

*Tess passes Paulo, who’s gritting his teeth and shaking with rage.*

*Jay, holding the ball at the ready, smiles smugly.*

*Paulo looks determined. Abbey and Amaya stand at the wall behind him. Amaya looks at Paulo, worried. Abbey has his arms crossed and eyes closed.*

*The ball quickly rolls toward Paulo.*
*Paulo focuses on the ball.*

*Mike jumps for the ball but misses as it sails way over his head.*

*Lucy and the fielder stand at second base, shocked, watching the ball fly through the air.*
